Coronavirus Update
On Friday 20th March the UK government asked all leisure business to close for 14 days in order to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus. We have closed all of our venues to customers, and cancelled or postponed all bookings until 4th April.
We are processing the March payroll as normal today. The March payroll is for the period 22-Feb-20 to 20-Mar-20 (i.e. it coincides with the date when we were forced to close) and will be paid in full as normal on Friday 27th March.
With all of our venues closed for at least the next 14 days, there will be no working hours for any staff. The government announced on Friday that they will fund 80% of workers’ wages during this shutdown, and we will email further developments as soon as the government publishes the details of how this will happen. The news is changing daily/hourly, and we do not expect to know the details for several days if not weeks (i.e. on what basis will the 80% be calculated, and how will it be paid).
As soon as we know more about how April’s payroll will operate, we will update you. In the meantime, all venues are closed. We will not be doing any maintenance during this downtime: we will do this maintenance instead when the announcement comes for us to re-open, as there may be a quiet few weeks before business levels return to “normal”. Head office will operate limited hours this week to run payroll and deal with customer enquiries.
We will send further updates as soon as the government publishes more details and how that affects your April pay.
